Assignment Goal
Students will design and animate an original 8-bit, vintage arcade-style teaser for a fictional game. The animation should feel like it belongs on an old arcade cabinet attract screen—simple, bold, pixel-based, and nostalgic.
Students will demonstrate:
- Pixel-based character and environment design
- Basic frame-by-frame animation
- Visual storytelling through motion
- Understanding of timing, looping, and limited color palettes
Concept Brief
Create a teaser animation that introduces:
- A game title
- A main character or enemy
- A simple action or loop (walk, jump, blink, attack, etc.)
Think: “INSERT COIN,” “READY PLAYER ONE,” flickering text, looping action.
